For roughly a week now, my 3900X with an MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi board has consistently run at full capacity in Task Manager after first launching Cinebench. Yet the MSI Centre app shows CPU usage well below 100%. This suggests Task Manager is triggering turbo boost, probably raising temperatures and making the cooler work harder. I've looked online for fixes but only found others with the same setup reporting the same problem. I don’t think it’s a virus issue since I haven’t visited anything suspicious and I’ve run multiple scans. I’m hoping someone can offer assistance.

It could be due to a bug in the Task Manager or another program on your system. Here are some steps to check and fix the problem: Update your motherboard's BIOS and related drivers or software. Look for background tasks using heavy CPU resources and close them with Task Manager or tools like Process Explorer. Turn off Turbo Boost in BIOS settings or via MSI Centre to prevent the CPU from reaching full speed, which can lower temps and noise. If the issue continues, a clean OS installation might be necessary to resolve conflicts. Let me know if you need more help!

Great update: simply turning on and off the turbo, fixing the task manager, and addressing the noisy CPU cooler resolved the issues. Thanks!

Great to know the Turbo Boost was turned off resolved your problem! Simple fixes often work best—consider testing basic troubleshooting first.
