I opened my PC's mainboard to see how many memory slots were available. I found only two SODIMM slots, but the task manager said there are four used. That’s confusing. My other laptop shows the same thing. Why does the task manager give wrong numbers? It might be because the board has fewer slots than it looks, or maybe the driver is not working properly. It could also be a software issue. You don’t need to worry—it’s normal for some boards to have limited slots. If you want more memory, you might need to upgrade the RAM.

It seems like a Windows issue, but it won't impact performance.

I understand it won’t impact performance, but it’s costing me a lot—about 10,000 INR (or roughly 180 CAD/140 USD)—since I just bought an unnecessary extra set of SODIMM RAM. That amount isn’t cheap.
