It won't cause permanent damage, just a possible CMOS reset. The worst outcome is clearing the BIOS memory by touching certain pins on the motherboard with a metal object while the computer is off, using a CMOS flashback button on the board, or removing the CMOS battery. Enabling XMP might help but check the manual for proper reset steps. Bricking is much more difficult and usually requires stock voltages or XMP settings.
