This situation has never occurred before, and I'm unsure when it began. It doesn't happen when the game runs in full-screen mode. Everything works fine as long as the desktop is visible (see pic 2), but when another window appears in front of it (see pic 1), the taskbar disappears. I think the Nvidia drivers or software might be responsible, since I reinstalled the tool we use to capture gameplay moments a few weeks ago. I haven't had similar problems before, even though I've used it regularly. I've also updated the Nvidia driver and program recently, which seemed to resolve the issue for a while. Now that I started using the PC again, the problem has returned.

You can open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and click "Restart" on explorer.exe. That controls the taskbar in Windows.

I can complete the Explorer task and restart it. Once done, the desktop and start menu bar vanish, leaving you to use alt+tab between open apps. When launching a fresh Explorer instance, the issue (menu bar disappearing) returns but remains unchanged.
