Taming Windows update behavior
Taming Windows update behavior
Hello everyone! I'm facing a strange problem with Windows updates on my older HP prebuilt machine. It works fine when updates happen automatically during off-peak hours, but once I boot it up, it keeps showing a UEFI splash screen warning about chassis intrusion. This happens every time I start the PC, even when it's sleeping. Overnight updates are stuck in a pre-boot state for hours, which disrupts my workflow. I checked the update settings but don’t see a way to pause updates while I’m using the system. Could anyone suggest a better approach instead of forcing updates overnight? Thanks for your help!
Turn off the chassis intrusion alarm setting in the BIOS configuration.
I also tried, and then the next time it complained at me for skipping the original chassis fans. I’ll see if I can disable that too. This seems to match what I’m looking for. How did you reach this point? It isn’t listed under Updates > Advanced Options. I notice a switch to “show a notification when your pc needs a restart to finish updating,” which I enabled.
