Talk about whether to provide digital or physical copies of the games.
I used to travel a lot and prefer digital books on my iPad for convenience. Another reason I support digital books is their educational value. Coursebooks were prohibitively costly, so I believe digital versions could benefit students, schools, and taxpayers.
Sure, this works fine. Giving you a local copy that doesn’t need constant internet is better. That’s why I prefer “Here Maps” over Google Maps. In my area, there are still many spots with poor or no connectivity. It’s frustrating when music cuts out or you’re charged every month without notice.
Games, films, and music are merely fragments. Regardless of how they reach you, the outcome remains consistent. Books differ entirely. Gripping a tangible volume offers a distinct sensation compared to digital formats. I appreciate the ability to turn pages freely. E-books lack this tactile quality. Besides, they provide benefits such as searchability and save physical storage space.
I don’t have physical gaming options for my PC. The drives are failing quickly because they’re not online, and it’s much easier to access them whenever needed.
I was also thinking about upgrading my computer last summer, but it didn’t seem essential. It felt like an unnecessary cost that could have gone toward a better mouse, keyboard, or even a new game. Even though it’s not super pricey, I’d rather invest in something I’d actually use instead of wasting money on something I wouldn’t rely on.
It mostly comes down to personal preference. I prefer most offline games to have a physical version, and I do have an optical drive available.
Having the physical copy is really a waste of time, but I got one of the non-drive versions of the PS5 at a store for a steal. Buying online is crazy expensive. In Denmark, you can buy games on disc for half the price compared to online purchases. At launch, PS5 titles are around 600,000 kkr (about 100 dollars), but they often drop to 399,000 kkr (roughly 65 dollars) when they first come out.
