Talk about boosting the RTX 2080 Ti! What are everyone's thoughts on the overclock gains?
This is just one sample of many benchmarks to evaluate, but it highlights my starting baseline run compared with where I am progressing through the adjustments. The software I'm using right now is Unigine Heaven 4.0. I still need to test with 3D Mark, Shadow of the Tomb Raider built-in benchmark, and a few others.
The first image shows the baseline performance at the default CPU speed on my i9-9900K with stock GPU settings. The testing is also performed in fullscreen at 2560x1440 resolution using Ultra mode.
The next picture demonstrates results after a 5GHz overclock using EVGA X1 software to boost the GPU speed.
In the X1 software, I've made several changes:
- Power and GPU temperature set to maximum
- GPU clock increased to +175Mhz (the card seems capable of handling this benchmark; it crashes at +180MHz)
- Voltage set to 100
- Memory clock at +1325MHz (still increasing during tests without any crashes)
- GPU fan speed at 100% maximum
Average temperatures were between 69c and 71c.
I hope these findings help the professional overclockers compare.
I have the Samsung GDDR6 in my card. I haven’t reached 3D Mark yet, but I’m getting ready to test it now. I plan to run a new baseline and then fine-tune the OC results. I’ll share my scores once everything is done.
My +175MHz OC on the GPU clock didn’t work well in Shadow of the Tomb Raider—crashed right away. I had to lower it to +100MHz to get a stable run. I also adjusted the memory clock to +1000.
I'm connected to +115 +1000, your high core temperature is causing you to crash. Additionally, I discovered that clocks on RTX begin to drop at 40°C, falling from 2130 to 2085 at 40°C and then to 2055 after 60°C. I've configured an aggressive fan curve so my GPU reaches a maximum of 60°C.
btw i'm running on air cooling, but i've noticed some people achieving 16800 with water cooling.
Run a game using RTX and DLSS, such as control or metro exodus.
I don't play those games, but I own a Port Royal RTX.
Edit: I'll share my results once I've had a chance.
