I just swapped in a 750 watt PSU that stopped working unexpectedly during the hot weather. It made me think about how most parts come with built-in checks, but regular power supplies are pretty basic unless you install your own sensors. The only hint was a computer that froze and didn’t reboot on its own. Time to consider a better standard?

By the way, after the swap, I took it apart and found the internal components completely blocked by dust. I’ll keep it for now until it’s clean again.

The weakest point lies entirely with the buyer and their research regarding the garbage unit. It's unfortunate, but many overlook this and choose the cheaper alternative, which leads to these issues. What PSU do you have? What are your system specifications?

I've mentioned this before, about a basic OLED or LCD screen that displays codes. (even a flashing LED would help).
More advanced diagnostics would be great (like a USB port), and aftermarket sellers could create devices to check temperatures, status, etc.

Well, perhaps the issue lay with the duet itself. The environment at your location might not be ideal—temperature and low humidity can cause dust to accumulate rapidly. Cleaning it is a bit more challenging than cleaning a PC case in general... Some power supplies have big grills, which makes a difference.

Probably. But sharing details with the group is what the forum aims for. Many have already done that.
If the original poster returns, we can address their worries. If not, additional well-informed responses to the first complaint will be provided for anyone with related concerns.
