Hello
I recently received an XFX 580 with 8GB of RAM. It’s a decent card and functions properly with the games I’ve tried, though it often crashes.
I experience static (grey with dots) and black screen flashes or game freezes that stop play even when audio continues. If I close the games during these moments, sometimes the error clears itself.
I attempted to disable features like HDR and the Windows Game Bar, which temporarily fixed the issue, but crashes returned. The only settings I adjusted between the card working and failing were resolution changes—switching from 1080p for gaming to 4K for watching videos or YouTube.
Also, note that some games, such as Batman Arkham Knight, briefly freeze when switching windows.
Anyone have solutions for these problems?

My system specs are:
FX 6300
2X8GB Hyper X (hx313c9fbk2/16)
WD BLUE 2TB 7.2K HDD
XFX RX 580 8GB
Gigabyte GA 78LMT S2PT
PSU EVGA 600GD 80+GOLD
All components are new except the motherboard and processor. I also upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 after installing the card (this was the final component I got).
Additionally, my PC is connected to a 60Hz TV via HDMI.

Likely the mix of a basic motherboard and memory that is too slow for the CPU.

Can I check if the graphics card works on a different machine?

I'm not sure. I've seen some other people online using the same GPU and CPU as me. The memory might be different, and the model could be outdated.
I should mention this too. Everything worked perfectly before the XFX GPU. The GPU I had before was a Radeon 6670 with 1GB of memory.

The only way I understand to check the GPU is through games. I don’t have much experience with computers.
I just attempted to play a game in windowed borderless mode and it seems to work now.
Edit:
Actually, I’m trying some of the games I used to play before; they were freezing at first, but now it seems to function properly. Still, I’m pretty sure the next time I turn on the computer the issue will return again soon.

Mostly. However, occasionally it displays static or a green screen instead of a black one.

I've seen these issues mentioned in some discussions specifically about XFX. Would you consider giving it back? If so, which alternative GPU would be best for you?

Determine which memory type requires lowering its value by 6%, whether the core clock or the memory clock.
