Of course, this hinges on Intel delivering solid clock speeds from their Cove chips. I’m curious about how Sunny Cove manages chiplettes—part of AMD’s approach to 7nm was isolating components into smaller 14nm units.

It's common to hear those specific numbers, but manufacturing standards differ between companies. TSMC and Intel use various processes, so what seems like a big jump in size doesn't always mean a huge leap in performance. Intel’s own production is costly because they manufacture it in-house, whereas AMD relies on chiplets which improve yield. The focus here isn’t to dismiss Intel outright but to highlight that performance isn’t just about nanometer size—it's also about cost and technology choices.

I'm really into Intel and think those hyperthreading/smt stuff is just not worth it. It feels like they left out this feature from the main i7 lineup in 2019—it should have been standard. The 9700k was a poor choice. Those defective 8/16 cores should have been split into i5s, but Intel seemed to cut corners for savings and grabbed an Nvidia i9 instead. According to the latest rumors about the 10th gen, they're on board.
