Taking advantage of RAM to its maximum capacity
Taking advantage of RAM to its maximum capacity
The ASUS Z170-A motherboard supports memory overclocking up to 3400. My RAM sticks are at 3000, but I expect the motherboard to lower them to 2133. I wonder if running the system at 3000 with XMP in BIOS would cause any issues, since both components can handle that speed. Also, I intend to enable XMP for the CPU, which is a fast method to adjust memory and slightly the CPU—what advice do you have?
Which CPU? Although the motherboard is included, the CPU—especially its memory controller—is the key element determining the data transfer speeds you can achieve.
