Hi everyone, I've been facing some problems with World of Warcraft lately. My Windows sometimes freezes for 4 to 20 seconds, especially when the C: drive reaches full capacity in Task Manager. I'm thinking about reinstalling Windows on a smaller partition on my faster Z: drive, but I'm not sure how much to reduce the size or if it's even necessary.

Checking your Z drive for any files right now. If it's clean, I'll proceed with the Z drive reference without naming a partition.

Yes, all my games from Steam and Battle.net are saved on the Z: drive and are currently being used.

The D: drive matches the C: drive in type and manufacturer, which suggests similar problems might occur if you switch between them.

Create copies of the data on the C drive. Clear the contents and reinstall the Z drive in place of the C drive, then restore those backups. If the games were downloaded online, they should be simple to reinstall.

I really don’t have much essential stuff on the PC beyond a few add-ons for games. Would it be simpler to completely erase the Z drive, then reinstall Windows, and wipe the C drive instead? Or is there a proper sequence to follow so I don’t end up with two operating systems running at once?

Two operating systems are acceptable on the same machine. It's possible to clear the Z drive during the Windows installation process.

Then simply connect your D: drive to save any files you wish to retain

You remain able to utilize your Z drive even when the operating system is active.

Creating a minor window partition isn't essential, is it?
