When GTA 5 was released for PC, a Twitch streamer started using a purchase key to activate the game while streaming. Steam quickly saw a surge in sales, but someone had already bought it before them, costing them 1.5 million dollars. They ended up having to repurchase the game.

I was watching that stream, and it turned out a few other streamers were in the same situation. It’s really a mistake to place the key where it’s not visible.

I don't recall it clearly, but it seems to be about StreamerHouse with a female participant and two male players involved.

Steam needs to handle keys more thoughtfully, after all—don’t waste time trying to launch your game during a live stream.
