Recently Bioshock became available on Epic Games and whenever I play BioShock Infinite it runs smoothly, but hitting certain areas causes the FPS to crash. I fixed it earlier by closing Epic Games and restarting. I’ve updated my GPU drivers; my specs are an I7 8550U, AMD Radeon R5 M435 with 8GB RAM. The game uses around 300MB of RAM. If anyone can help, that would be really appreciated.

What level of detail are you using? You might be encountering a VRAM limit. It didn’t look like a tough game back then—300mb of RAM seemed insufficient. Solitaire is reported to consume more memory than that.

Running at 720p uses about 2GB of VRAM, but the games need at least 500MB. It’s unclear if the problem lies with VRAM or something else.

I resolved the problem. For AMD players, simply start the game using the AMD tool, which works like Nvidia GeForce Experience and fixes the issue.

It's an unusual solution, but I'm happy it functioned!
