I'm planning to run an old Pentium 3 or 4 machine for a TAILS project. I'm not sure about the right terms, but I just want to know if it will perform well and how much it might affect my internet speed. I have a 75 Mbps down connection and a 25 Mbps up connection, and I don't want anything too slow.

The sole method a computer uses to slow down the network is by occupying bandwidth for itself or forcing the network to operate at a reduced pace. Otherwise, the network shouldn't distinguish between different sources or users.

It would work without issues as long as you have a minimum of 2 GB of RAM. Running with less memory is possible, though performance would decrease.
