T9500 CPU enhancement on 2007 IMAC completed successfully, yet the device remains non-functional.
Upgraded CPU on a 2007 IMAC 24" with recommended T9500. Watched a tutorial on YouTube and followed steps carefully. The machine won’t power off, shows a black screen with fan noise. Pressing power button turns it on but not off—had to shut it down. Next I’ll check the motherboard LEDs tomorrow. Recently increased RAM to 6GB and swapped HDD for SSD; it worked fine then. Got any suggestions?
Hi, thanks for the response. I’m pretty sure the T9500 is the right component. However, I’m not sure if it’s working properly. It was purchased online and shipped from China, so it’s one of my possible candidates. I’d consider it the main suspect right now. Before buying and installing another one, I’d like to check other options first.
