I have tried to play cod warzone and fortnite on my pc but it kept on crashing. I was using a gtx 970 that I bought used at the time and I was playing the games at minimum settings and 1080p. I then bought a new 1050 ti thinking that that would fix the issue, but everything still crashes. This is a new pc build and I tried running the games before overclocking my cpu and enabling Xmp on my ram but it still keeps on crashing. Call of duty gives an open gl error and fortnite gives me the switch to direct x 11 crash. My full pc specs are: ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb t-force 3200mhz memory and msi b550 pro vdh Wi-fi motherboard.
Operate the device using just one stick of RAM inside, observe its performance, and check for stability. Avoid pushing it beyond limits during checks, undo any overclocking until it works properly.
Switching from GTX 970 to 1050 Ti actually lowered performance rather than improving it. You might see a significant drop in speed. Regarding crashes, ensure DDU is installed before updating drivers. OpenGL and DirectX issues usually stem from faulty drivers or Windows. In extreme cases, corrupted GPU memory can occur (like on an old R9 280X). If fresh drivers fail, consider downclocking your GPU memory by 35-50 MHz and test again. Apply the same adjustment to the core clock. If one fixes the problem, replace the GPU. The rest of your system appears fine. Also verify that your BIOS is current.
