If the OEM license came from a ready-made system like Dell or HP, transferring it might be uncertain. However, if the OP bought an OEM system builder license for themselves and the previous system was deactivated in their MS account, they can transfer it after installing Windows. The OS will not activate until this is completed.

I also had another spare retail licence and everything was fine. Windows was installed, which was great. Thanks again for your tips and advice.
