Update Discussion
Hey everyone, I’m seeking advice on upgrading from AM4 to AM5. I found a great deal for a Ryzen 5 7600X paired with an MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi board and DDR5 6000MHz Corsair RAM all for $591.57. Would this be a clear choice? I’ve been planning to refresh my motherboard, CPU, and RAM for some time and believe moving to AM5 would be advantageous regardless of the other upgrades.

Why? What's the benefit? What do you expect it will bring?

What kind of improvement are you considering? Would you be looking at something like the 5800X3D? If so, for a high-end CPU from the 3000 series, should they upgrade to the top-tier 7000 or even the 9000 line when it becomes available?

You need to consider a few things before proceeding:
Do you have a valid reason for the upgrade?
Is your existing system insufficient?
What specific improvements are you aiming for?
Or are you simply looking to spend money without a clear purpose?

Using a 5900x with 32gb memory has reduced costs, so avoid spending on an am5.

Switching to AM5 offers a longer window for future upgrades, yet simply moving to 5800x3D would yield results quite comparable to those with 7600x. If you're not ready to invest heavily in stronger CPU and GPU, staying on AM4 could be a practical choice until you're prepared for a completely new system.

By the way, AMD has recently released its new 9000 series for AM5 and an upcoming 800 chipset, making it sensible to monitor pricing before committing.

These are all valuable suggestions in reality. I aim to avoid unnecessary expenses simply because of the habit. My main goal is to upgrade my motherboard and RAM thoroughly. While the R5 7600X was part of a package, I’m more interested in improving my current setup. I should probably postpone this or consider a reliable AM4 board that meets the features I need.

Are you asking about the features that are missing from your current system?

The device should support resizing, WiFi connectivity (as Ethernet won't be available soon), fewer headers, and updated USB ports. It needs room for a single M.2 slot on the existing board, with space to add another. The maximum RAM speed is limited to 2667 MHz.
