Hey there! I upgraded with a 1080t and new components like an i7 13700k, DDR5 32GB, GTX card, cooler, PSU, and PS3. I’m trying to run Warzone 2 at 1440p but only get around 40-50fps, no matter what settings I adjust. It’s the same fps as my old 5930k build with the same RAM. Could something be wrong? I’m still learning all this, but if you have more details, I’d love to hear!
Launch HWmonitor or a comparable tool to check GPU usage—probably you're running out of GPU capacity soon. Those 1080Ti graphics cards are getting quite outdated.
It seems you changed something incorrectly. Could you confirm your CPU and RAM usage before the upgrade? If either exceeded 60%, the upgrade could have been beneficial. This game is designed for GPUs that are five years newer than yours, which might affect performance here. Checking the video suggests lowering resolution or adjusting settings can improve FPS with minimal visual impact.
The previous version fully utilized the GPU when it wasn't causing a bottleneck, resulting in only slight improvements. These enhancements mainly showed up as better smoothness—reducing lows by 1% and 0.1% compared to before—and possibly a slightly lower power consumption. The newer components let you upgrade to a modern mid-range or high-end GPU, whereas the older ones would have limited performance.
Have you adjusted the window power options? Are there any performance limitations? Are your drivers current? Do you use an HDD? This issue often surprises many users.
did your previous machine actually reach 1440p? most probably it was limited by its processor. but all components in your setup are quite old, which usually causes delays with modern upgrades. switching to a new nvme drive for windows and a gpu would really change things.
make sure you have an NVMe drive if you haven't yet. typical SSD speeds reach around 600 MB/s, while good NVMe options start at 3400 MB/s. Gen4 drives can go up to 7000 MB/s.
