Hello everyone, before I proceed, I want to say sorry if this subject isn't covered in the right section. I've noticed a problem with my PC where it suddenly shuts down during certain games like Ready or Not, Need for Speed Heat, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. After checking possible fixes—reducing graphics settings, physically rearranging components—I still faced the issue. Even after ensuring everything was properly seated, the crashes happened when power was cut. To restart, I had to disconnect the power cable, set the PSU to 0, hold the power button briefly to draw residual power, and then reconnect. This problem began after upgrading my GPU from GTX 1070 ROG Strix to RTX 3070 ROG Strix, and everything else remains unchanged. Below are my current PC specs:

- Case: Cooler Master SGC-6000-KKN1-GP
- PSU: Fortron EVEREST 800W 80PLUS
- RAM: GA-AX370-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X - 3.70GHz - 4.60GHz
- GPU: Corsair H100i v2
- RAM: ASUS VENGEANCE LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
- SSD: Western Digital SN730 NVMe 1TB
- HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB

Could this be linked to the PSU under heavy load or a faulty GPU? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead!

It seems like a PSU problem rather than handling those spikes. You could simplify graphics settings to ease the load, but the GPU will just boost FPS. Try enabling Vsync or forcing 60fps, or lower the GPU power limit if an app supports it—seeing improvement might point to the PSU issue.

The unusual actions seem connected to the graphics card. Likely just a temporary glitch. It probably isn’t broken. Try resetting the PCIe and power connections, and consider using DDU for troubleshooting.

I don't have personal preferences, but I can suggest some PSUs based on common requirements. Let me know if you need details!

As mentioned by @podkall, I reassembled it too, but that didn’t make any difference at all

I thought an 800w unit would suffice, but I checked the specs online and it seems... quite outdated. Likely won’t need to exceed that much power, but a newer model with a recognizable brand would be better.

Seeking premium PSUs rated at 750W or higher is sufficient. Focus on reputable brands like Corsair, MSI, and Cooler Master. Notable models include the Corsair RM750e, MSI MAG A750GL, Be Quiet! Pure Power, Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2, EVGA SuperNOVA 750 GT, and Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 PE.

You can look for a PSU, give it a name here, and I or another person can let you know if it works or not. Easy.
