Hello everyone, I'm trying to pinpoint a problem that's hard to describe. My system occasionally freezes without a BSOD or total crash. It doesn't seem linked to load or state, happening in games, on my desktop, during stress tests, and even while sleeping. When it does occur (mostly in games), the game freezes completely, all audio disappears (including my headset), and any video playback continues until the buffer clears. Afterward, I can briefly use some programs—especially in-game—but not interact with others. In other cases, the video on my second display keeps playing even when I pause it. I've tried locking out or signing out, which sometimes restarts things but keeps looping. It started around when I switched to Windows 11, possibly related to a failing drive during the upgrade (though not sure if it was Windows-related). I've updated drivers, OS, firmware, and hardware, even run stress tests. Temperatures spiked occasionally but not dangerously. I've checked event logs for errors unrelated to shutdowns, finding only a couple of critical issues in the last hour. I've done everything possible and hope someone can assist. Please share your specs below. OS: Windows 11 Pro Build 22631 Motherboard: ROG Crosshair VIII Formula BIOS: build 4902 CPU: Ryzen 9 5950x RAM: 4x8gb Vengeance RGB Pro Drives: Samsung HHD (not used but present) Samsung 860 Pro WDblack SN850x GPU: EVGA RTX 3080TI PSU: Corsair 850i
