Do you have an extra power supply unit? I experienced that problem a few times over the past year and always had to restart the PC after upgrading. After replacing mine, it seems the PSU is failing, but make sure to verify with a backup if you have one.

Current motherboard model, newest BIOS version, latest AMD chipset driver updates, temperature readings in idle and under load conditions.
