You received your laptop a year ago, but you've been experiencing problems with Minecraft. Updating Java a year ago should have improved performance, yet it didn't resolve the issue. It's possible that other factors—like hardware limitations or changes in Minecraft updates—are affecting it. Consider checking for newer system updates or contacting support for further assistance.

Updating your Java could improve performance since newer versions often fix bugs and enhance stability, especially if your Minecraft version had known issues.

Consider increasing the memory assigned to the application. A large render distance setting consumes significant processing power.

I set my render distance to 32, which gives me around 30-50 fps, but on 16 it’s about 60-70 fps. Others with lower specs—like a GTX 850 or a GT 840—get much higher frame rates. I’ve also tried increasing RAM, but it doesn’t really improve performance.
