from its specifications it looks like a quad-core processor, which might actually be the case. You could use 3DMark to easily identify any bottlenecks, though: Core i5-9300H & GeForce GTX 1650 (Mobile) | Bottleneck calculator | PC Builds (pc-builds.com) suggests they’re almost balanced.

Hey there! It looks like you might be dealing with a CPU problem, but since you're getting smooth frames, replacing it isn't necessary.

Checking your current resolution, settings, and frame rate. Aiming for stable performance around the expected FPS for the game. Any deviation may signal an issue needing investigation.

Based on PC Builds, you're aiming for minimal specs and likely not hitting 200+ FPS.

They don’t specify how they identify the bottleneck. I’d prefer any claim promising near-zero accuracy with heavy salt usage. Bottlenecks aren’t typically shown as percentages since they can appear at any moment, no matter how slight. At the lowest configurations, the GPU usage seems minimal, which makes sense. The CPU also hits its limit because it’s not the fastest available and you’re directing all the workload there. From what I’ve seen, you probably won’t achieve over 200 FPS in GTA V on your system. 1080p maxes around 150 FPS, and both CPU and GPU usage align with what you’ve reported: even high-end CPUs cap near 185 FPS. https://www.anandtech.com/show/16214/amd...-tested/28 What are your actual numbers? It seems you’re seeing typical performance, but that should settle the matter.

Alternatively, you might be looking at mid-range components delivering average results. An i5-9300H paired with an 1650 chipset is suitable for gaming, but it won’t provide elite performance. Achieving over 200 FPS in current AAA games—besides competitive titles—is still out of reach for most systems. You also have mobile options, which generally lag behind desktops because of laptop power and cooling limits.

I'm trying to test my skills once on my mom's old tablet from Windows XP with an outdated Radeon GPU and a slow CPU. Playing Oblivion was tough, but I was a teenager stuck at her farm house without my better rig. It was either that or a PS1 portable back then. How far I've come! I wish they had more cores for newer CPUs, but mid-tier hardware works surprisingly well at lower settings. Back then, playing WoW on a mid-tier laptop was tough, yet integrated graphics surprised me. The Steam Deck impressed me too, even if it's slower than the latest iPhone in that situation. It's frustrating with the silicon monopoly! Good luck on your journey, and may your laptop keep running for a while.
