I've just installed a new PC and it's running slow. The cursor jumps around while using it, and even the BIOS is lagging. It shows external graphics in BIOS. CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X, GPU is RX 6700 XT. Motherboard is Aorus B550M Pro, RAM is Kingston Fury Beast 32GB, 4200MHz, and the SSD is a 2TB M.2 PCI-E x4 Gen4 NVMe drive. The case is H1 nzxt, power supply is 750W Gold 80Plus from Lian Li. I've tried reinstalling drivers through DDu multiple times.
I faced comparable problems on my previous system during setup. For me, the issue was with the SATA port on the motherboard; switching ports resolved everything. Thanks to its inclusion in the BIOS, the process became much easier. The likely culprits are your mouse (if lag persists), CPU, GPU, or RAM. I recommend first re-seating the GPU—remove it carefully and reinstall with attention to placement. If problems continue, try connecting the GPU to another port. Also, check if the cable linking the monitor is secure.
Thank you for the update. I'll attempt to reinstall the GPU on its original place. RAM and CPU are functioning properly. I've run several tests, and firmware was the only issue (1796 points versus the expected 10k for a 6700X).
I tried resetting the GPU again but nothing changed. My SSD is installed and there’s no SATA connection—just an NVMe port, and since it’s an ITX Mobo model, there’s no special slot for the GPU. I’m completely confused; I did a BIOS update already.
Did you verify the link to the monitor? It might help to switch to another screen, and if that doesn’t resolve the problem, gradually remove components from the PC one by one after restarting until only the keyboard and mouse remain connected. The aim is to pinpoint the issue—since a single PCIe slot makes it tricky to tell whether the problem is with the GPU or the slot itself.
Have you attempted to activate XMP? Please try using the standard memory configurations. The memory kit model number is not listed here. You mentioned it's not a 4200MHz CL36 DDR4, which isn't available.
I gave it a shot, but nothing functioned properly. The only relief came from deleting the gigabyte software.
