I own an x570 crosshair viii hero motherboard paired with an AMD R9 3900X. After setup, the system occasionally freezes, displaying black screens and changing the postcode from 9E to 00. I think the 9E code relates to the TPM being active and passing control to the OS. However, I’m uncertain why my board randomly shuts down to a black screen without rebooting, showing 00—possibly indicating no CPU activity. Temperatures seem normal (CPU around low 50s, GPU under 80% during games), but crashes occur even when monitoring software is active on my stream deck. The issue started recently, with only five to ten incidents in the past six months. My PC specs include ASUS X570 crosshair viii hero, Wi-Fi, 32GB TRIDENT RAM at 3600MHz, ASUS Strix RX 2080 Ti, Corsair H150i Pro water cooler, 2x Samsung NVMe drives, and a Samsung data SSD running Windows 11 (non-beta).

Ensure your BIOS is up to date. Verify the cooler plate is securely attached. Check if the CPU is placed correctly within the socket.

I can't directly export or send files from Event Viewer. However, you can download the logs yourself and share them here if needed.

Check the Ethernet controller settings and remove any network optimizer programs. Then upgrade the Ethernet controller driver.

it seemed to resolve the problem but yesterday I encountered a fresh crash where my machine freezes completely and I’m forced to shut down the power supply just to try anything... it looks like a recent BIOS update for my motherboard, yet every time I attempt installation it reports it’s not a BIOS update. I don’t see it on screen since I’m still using the computer. Here’s the updated event log including system and application entries, as I only notice errors in the app logs... the crash occurred around 2:28am and there are several warnings about Microsoft.GamingApp_2201.1001.8.0. I had to compress it into a zip file to share it but the warning states that the application-specific permission settings don’t allow Local Activation for the COM Server app with the given CLSID and APPID. The SID is S-1-5-21-779110092-2195754606-1915528504-1001, running under LocalHost via LRPC in the Microsoft.GamingApp_2201.1001.8.0 application container. This security setting can be adjusted through Component Services admin tool. crash.zip

I’m ready to perform a system reset if you think it’s necessary. After restarting the power supply, I received a postcode of 00, which prompted me to restart it again before it would register.

I haven't determined the cause yet. You're experiencing the same problem with a 5900x.
