Hey there! I’m facing some issues with my PC and I’m trying to figure out why it keeps shutting down unexpectedly. Sometimes, especially when playing RS6 Siege and Quake Champions at full capacity, the system powers off and then restarts. I’ve already checked some troubleshooting steps, but I’m still unsure about the cause. My specs are: CPU i9 10900F, GPU Nvidia RTX 3090, RAM Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, motherboard Asus PRIME B460M-K, PSU ROG-STRIX-750G (750W), case Fractal Torrent with ARGB fans, AIO Corsair iCUE H170i, and an LCD display with 7x140mm vents and 2x180mm fans. I recently adjusted BIOS settings so the system can draw 220W instead of the previous 65W. Previously, with the RTX 3070 under the same conditions, my PC never shut down. For RAM, XMP profile is active. I ran FurMark at high resolutions for an hour without issues, but CPU stress tests (HeavyLoad) showed temps around 58°C and no shutdowns either. However, after just one test, the system would power off immediately when I pressed the button to run a graphics test. I attached a video of this behavior. Your CPU and GPU together might trigger your OCP (over current protection) to shut down. The 3090 uses about 125–150 more watts than the older 3070. Users have tested it on 750-watt PSUs that are only 650 watts, but since it's made by Seasonic, their lower-power PSUs paired with OCP/OVP can cause high-end systems to fail and force a restart. Your thermal paste isn’t the issue here; your PSU likely won’t handle the combined load without protection. *Note: This is based on current information only, and I hope someone else can confirm.*

If it struggles under combined CPU and GPU demands, the problem likely lies with the power supply. The CPU can consume up to 224W, while the GPU draws around 350W to a peak of 365W during spikes—at least double. Your PSU supports 744W at 12V, which covers nearly 600W from your combined load. With many 12V fans and lighting, the total draw increases significantly. I recommend using a more robust PSU or adjusting the power limits you've set to see if that resolves the issue.

I should read the manual and adjust the load accordingly. The same issue appears with ASUS PSUs. If someone can advise me on the best choice within a $300 budget, that would be really helpful.
