Hello, I've noticed some unexpected crashes while using D3. The issue appears consistently across the game, from the selection screen to later stages like Greater Rifts. I've attempted a full reinstall and updated the Nvidia drivers for my GTX 970, but nothing has resolved the problem. Could there be a specific setting or configuration in Windows 7 that needs adjustment? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I faced the same problem with Diablo 3 before. Since then I've played around 50 different games and haven't encountered any issues. Recently, I tried playing it again a few weeks ago and the same problems occurred. Sometimes the game would crash with sound working, other times graphics drivers failed, and occasionally it would trigger a BSOD. There were also instances where the game would freeze completely, requiring me to use alt-tab and close it in Task Manager. After a couple of weeks and reading hundreds of forum posts about Diablo 3 issues, I decided to stop playing it on PC.

I engage with Path of Exile because it offers a deep and rewarding experience.

What processor are you using? Is it running at higher than normal speed? Have you attempted to slow it down or adjusted the voltage? What type of power source do you have connected? Also clarify what you mean by a crash—does the entire system freeze, does the display go dark, does the game stall, or do you see a crash notification? Is there a blue screen of death?

Hi Speaker, here’s the breakdown:
1. Power supply is a Corsair CX 750 W
2. CPU is Intel Core i5-4670K
3. Avoid overclocking the CPU
4. GPU was factory overclocked, model is Evga SSC GTX 970
5. When it crashes, the computer restarts without BSOD or pop-ups
6. I haven’t tried downclocking the GPU

You're running the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming card and an Intel i5 4690K without any problems playing Diablo 3.

Access the control panel, then navigate to Administrative Tools and Event Viewer. In "Event Viewer (Local)" locate "Summary of Administrative Events." Click the + sign next to Critical Events to reveal details. If critical events exist, double-click them for a description of the incident.

Diablo 3 is an online game, so if it's the only one doing it, my initial thought would be a network issue.
