I've been planning to build a PC for ten years and finally completed it this evening! It's quite an exciting project, and I've connected everything properly. After giving it its first boot, it shut down after just five seconds of powering up. I've adjusted some cables and unplugged the CPU power cable—now it starts working but doesn't display anything on the screen. I'm not sure what to do next. It might be a PSU problem based on the sounds. Attached some photos of potatoes for reference. Thanks for your time (not sure if I should share this or not).

Have you attempted to reinstall the RAM? It should produce a firm click at each end when you insert it into the slot.

CPU power is reconnected successfully. During startup, the system will initialize slowly—expect a few minutes for full boot, depending on your RAM capacity. The components involved include the CPU, motherboard, power supply, and storage devices.

You have an AM5 1GB RAM 650MHz motherboard with an AMD 8500G CPU (stock cooler), a TFLOAT 5600MZ DDR5 (2x8GB) RAM, a silverstone DA750 PSU, and a stock 650MHz GPU. After powering everything on, the PSU powers up unexpectedly, the CPU fan begins spinning, the startup sound plays, and after about five seconds the PSU clicks off. Turn it off for at least ten seconds before it restarts.

I disassembled and reassembled it, yet the problem persists. This is my first PC build, and I’m confident I’ve done everything correctly after following countless tutorials for years.

You have an AM5 1GB RAM 650MHz gaming motherboard with an AMD 8500G CPU (stock cooler), a TFLOAT 5600MZ DDR5 (2x8GB) RAM, no GPU yet, and a Silverstone DA750 PSU. After turning it on, the power supply clicks on and starts, the CPU fan begins spinning, it produces the normal startup noise, then after about five seconds the PSU stops working. Unplug it for ten seconds and it restarts automatically.

It's activating when you turn the switch on the power supply unit. If so, it's likely the front panel connector is misplaced. Begin by disconnecting all components from this header. Then, capture a picture of each cable connected to this header, making sure the labels are facing upward.

Discard the color options. Skip the SATA connection. This should clear up the clutter. Everything is chaotic. Keep it simple until you hear back. Updated Feb 13, 2024 by leclod

I’ve connected every front panel cable in your setup—only the HDD LED, power LED (top left two), and power switch are present. There’s nothing else on the case, is there? That seems fine.

The sat is just lying around and only stayed for five minutes to check if the fans spun or lit up. I plan to revisit this tomorrow since it's 1 a.m. in New Zealand, but thank you for your time.
