System stopped during a game after installing a new CPU.
Hello! I updated my Ryzen 3 3200 to a Ryzen 5 5600 and everything worked until I encountered issues with Overwatch and the E: drive. Then playing Apex caused crashes, leading me to suspect an E: disk problem. After running CrystalDiskInfo it showed the drive was in poor condition (yellow). I replaced it with an SSD, but the issue persisted—especially when trying League of Legends and CS:GO. Windows now restarts on the new drive whenever I launch those games. I also cleared CMOS beforehand. I'm unsure what's going on, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 5600, GPU - NVIDIA GTX 980, RAM - 2x8GB, PSU - 500W.
Have you thought about the possibility that the SATA cable could be defective?
I changed to my previous CPU and everything looks okay. Might the power supply unit be the issue?
