Hello everyone, facing some problems with my PC. I pressed the power button and left to prepare dinner. I did this so it would start up when I was ready to take on the day. When I returned, the machine seemed active (fans spinning, RAM and case lights illuminating), but when I tried to activate the monitors and keyboard, nothing happened. The screens didn<|pad|>, and the keyboard lights stayed off. I turned it off and back on; the case and RAM lights came back, but fans were still running, including CPU and GPU, yet no monitors or keyboard lights appeared. I’ve replaced the GPU and RAM, tried reseating the CMOS battery (not sure what that involves), and even swapped RAM slots, but the issue persists. One of the case fans stopped working. I suspect it might be the GPU, but I’m unsure why the keyboard wouldn’t turn on. My mouse is wireless and lit up when moved, possibly due to a dongle issue, but I don’t know the exact specs. My PC is four years old. It has two monitors, neither turning on and refusing to send a signal.
Consider using an extra power source or a reliable unit from someone else first.
Consider skipping the GPU entirely—if it’s the reason the PC boots with the Basic Video adapter, try a different PSU as suggested by @Crunchy Dragon.
It was a tough process getting people to lend me their PSU, especially convincing my cousin. The setup is mostly functional except for the keyboard and monitor. The system boots up with PC lights on, but only one fan spins while others stay off. It’s unclear what’s causing the issue. Would it work without integrated graphics? My GPU is in my cousin’s PC and it works perfectly there. I’m considering swapping RAM, but compatibility is an issue—my RAM is DDR4 while theirs are DDR5. There’s a new update I saw in a YouTube video suggesting using just one RAM stick, which seems to have resolved the problem. The monitor is on but shows nothing.
