It seems your current setup isn't working. Have you considered using just one RAM stick or testing each slot separately? If the motherboard struggles with RAM, it could point to a seating issue or a faulty stick.

You may want to test both RAM sticks individually. One could be faulty while the other works fine. Or there might be problems with specific RAM slots on your system.

I fixed it for you. I had a z170-a and a 6700k, and the DRAM led stayed stuck red until I re-seated the CPU.

Sure, I’d go ahead and poke the CPU as discussed before. It looks like there’s an issue—either a component is failing or something is out of place.
