System starts up and displays the BIOS or motherboard interface, behaving oddly.
Hello, I understand this title isn’t very clear. I’m not sure how to describe what’s going on with my PC. Yesterday I restarted it and saw a black screen for about two minutes. Normally it boots quickly thanks to the M.2 drive, but it didn’t respond at all for five minutes. After turning it back on, it went to the motherboard screen with several options, including pressing F1 to setup. I exited BIOS without saving. It took over ten minutes to reach my desktop from the login screen. Once it was back, performance returned but the clock displayed midnight on April 3rd, 2023 – that seemed odd. I shut it down and restarted it to check if the problem repeated. This time when I came home after work, the date hadn’t changed, and the issue persisted. I’m worried about the data I have stored and don’t want to reset everything just yet, but I’m unsure what might be causing this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I switched it back right away. Thought about resetting the PC, but it’s been stuck at 32% for about an hour and a half—hope it improves before I wake up since it’s already 4 AM.
I haven’t switched it to raid mode before because I never used multiple SSDs until I installed the M.2 drive. It’s functioning well without the BIOS prompts for a long time—probably because I installed the M.2 last year. I’m wondering if setting up raid will solve the problem. I saw some online discussions about similar issues, like battery failures and reset screens, so maybe it could help.
I acquired it in 2016 when I assembled my PC. Here’s the link to the product page for it: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-maxi...067F7eKL6B
