Pc specs: -Ryzen 5 5600; -RX 6700XT; -16gb DDR4 3200mhz crucial balistix; -gigabyte b550 aorus elite v2 with f16c bios; -750w RM 750X corsair -win 11(whatever the current version of it is it is kept up to date) The problem: Now for the problems I have been facing: -First of all windows 11 will at least once a week override my gpu driver and I have to ddu and reinstall it then. -Second and my main problem: If I unplug my pc from the power strip or shut of the psu the pc will brick itself until I clear cmos. Any kind of complete power outage for he pc except just shutting it off will brick the boot until I clear cmos and then it will start. Should mention that everything in the pc will turn on all the lights the gpu the cpu cooler everything spins and turns on but no boot, and no power to any usb devices plugged in. I did all the standard troubleshooting steps: tried booting wihout anything except the monitor plugged in, tried power cycling it, tried different power cords one stick of ram and so on, only thing that works as mentioned above is cmos clearing it. Honestly this is a huge problem because I have to clear my pc regularly because I have a cat and she sheds a lot and my pc case is crap so no filters on it. At this point I have to clear cmos and reinstall my gpu driver every time I clean my pc which is a huge bother and annoyance. If you kind people have any suggestions what it might be or how I could fix any of this I would appreciate any input you have!!!
Is it really not trying to post? I just need to verify if what you mean by "brick" is actually turning the fan off and other lights staying off when you press the power button, especially if the front panel works correctly. If your case has a reset switch, you might be able to use that too. The power button sends a "try to turn off/on" signal, while a reset means "shut everything down, start fresh, then power on."
I'm the original poster who logged in with my credit card, but somehow it registered me under a different account—no idea how. All the lights inside the case turned on, yet USB devices like my microphone and keyboard didn't get power. The monitor also showed no output. I changed the CMOS battery as suggested by someone above, but got no help. Since I didn't have any spare parts to try, I went to a friend who had similar components. First, we swapped the RAM; the computer started up after about a minute. Before going there, I removed my RAM and reinserted it multiple times, testing with just one stick—still no success. I think my RAM failed because it was overclocked from 3000 to 3200, and inserting someone else's RAM somehow reset its timing. After that, trying my old RAM worked fine. I haven't attempted to overclock it again.
I'm facing a comparable issue with my build. My 6800xt has drivers that sometimes crash daily, showing only the motherboard logo without any signal. I have to enter safe mode, switch to the Windows video driver, and reinstall the drivers repeatedly—usually needing multiple attempts. I'm concerned this might indicate a faulty GPU. Please let me know if you've encountered a similar problem.
You're experiencing issues with your 6800XT build, where drivers often brick after daily use. The system displays the motherboard logo but lacks signal for monitoring. You need to switch to Windows Video Driver in Safe Mode to uninstall and reinstall drivers, which can be time-consuming. Multiple attempts are required. I'm seeking advice on a similar setup—do you have any reference or comparison for the 6700XT?
