Also let me know what the set multiplier does so I can explain how to enable it.

Indicates the CPU should operate at the rated speed from Intel. This adjustment may prevent it from locking up at 798 MHz. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...0-ghz.html Your image confirms Intel Turbo Boost isn't engaging. The issue likely stems from the Set Multiplier configuration.

Currently, with turbo boost active, temperatures spike significantly when the CPU is under load. I’ve kept it off to maintain lower temps, as turning it on previously caused this issue.

ThrottleStop - Turn off turbo boost. Still need to verify the Set Multiplier option to prevent overheating at startup. How did you turn off the turbo? Any adjustments to your Windows power plan could be contributing. Restore plan defaults will reset your settings back to standard. Manage turbo boost with ThrottleStop. Intel designs CPUs for stable performance up to 100°C. Their cooling systems perform excellently. Many people overthink CPU temps when they don’t apply. Check the Task Manager details to remove unnecessary background processes and ensure C states are active in BIOS. C states help Intel CPUs stay cool under light load. Also consider cleaning your laptop and refreshing the thermal paste when possible. ThrottleStop 9.5

I turned off turbo boost by adjusting the processor to 99% capacity and then applying the current setting in the BIOS.

Did you figure out the 800 MHz throttling issue? You don’t have to rely on several techniques to turn off Turbo Boost. ThrottleStop would be a better option for easy control. How intense does your CPU temperature become with Turbo Boost active?

The temperatures continue to climb without end, so I shut it down. It goes up and up, reaching 70 degrees and 81, then it keeps increasing.

Did you activate the Turn On button? Are you running the Windows High Performance power plan?

Sure, confirm that works too. I’m using the high-performance version, and I’m not sure if taking a screenshot will make any difference since it seems to have no impact.
