Hello, I noticed a recurring issue where closing and opening my laptop changes its CPU clock speed to match the frequencies listed in the title. This happens whether I press "suspend" or wake it up. I’m looking for any insights or solutions and would really appreciate your help. My machine is a Dell Precision M6600 running Windows 10, and I’m open to any advice you can share. Thank you ahead of time!
The goal is to maintain stable performance even when the laptop isn’t in use, ensuring consistent speed without unnecessary power consumption.
I've encountered this multiple times over the years. It seems related to sleep cycles or S levels. A firmware update might resolve it, but a Windows update could be necessary. Clearing CMOS or tweaking the S level in BIOS can help, though sometimes a full Windows reinstall is required. They're likely referring to lingering slowness after waking.
ThrottleStop is enabled on these devices. Disable BD PROCHOT on the main display. Some users report performance drops here. Share many ThrottleStop images during throttling for assistance.
You're referring to lingering slowly after waking up. What advice would you like? I'd avoid anything high-risk and steer clear of reinstalling Windows.
BD PROCHOT is unrelated to thermal throttling. It may cause the CPU to operate at its lowest speed regardless of temperature. For assistance, check Post ThrottleStop images.
This is how it looks when I close and open the laptop or put it to sleep and wake it up. Btw I turned BD PROCHOT off and it didn't do anything so I just leaved it like that
Review the Set Multiplier section and activate it. Keep BD PROCHOT inactive during this process. Share photos of the TPL and TRL screens.
