Hello! When a company shares system requirements for a game, they usually mention the processor specifications. For instance, a minimum CPU might be Core i5-2500 at 3.3GHz, with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.7GHz. I’m curious—do they only look at the base clock speed or also take into account the expected turbo frequency? I searched but didn’t find a clear answer, so anyone with more insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Think about the games you're interested in and your available GPU.

You're wondering about your system setup since you're using an i5-750 CPU with a Radeon 4670 GPU. The game "Dying Light" runs on a GPU, not a CPU, so the performance will depend heavily on your graphics card.

It can't launch the game. My interest lies in the CPU. When they define the lowest specs, they rely solely on the base clock speed or also factor in the anticipated turbo speed?

It's unclear how they choose which items to include in the requirements.

I found that question quite intriguing and sparked my curiosity. I also reviewed the suggested requirements alongside the minimum specs—they show a comparable difference between the base and turbo settings. Of course, I looked into the Dying Light game to gather more details for a solid conclusion. To strengthen the analysis, checking other games would be helpful. If I aim to overclock my i5-750, this "uncertainty" could result in two possible outcomes: hitting the stated base frequency or reaching the expected turbo speed. Thank you for your input.

I believe the GPU is blocking your start. With the 512MB version, it might not even launch properly—maybe it won’t run at all when I was playing Dying Light. It used up all my 3GB of VRAM and read online that it tends to consume nearly every available RAM. Even with a faster CPU, the game wouldn’t work. The requirements aren’t really reliable tests, so you should check YouTube for people testing your specific GPU.

The suggestions seem confusing because they often mention specific processors like Intel i5/i7 3570 or higher, or FX8320 or above. That doesn’t really apply here since those CPUs don’t produce comparable performance in that game. In short, the requirements don’t really matter; the game won’t launch just because your clock speed is low.
