Hello everyone, I'm facing an unusual problem and need some guidance on troubleshooting it. My computer freezes completely, making it impossible to interact with anything. The keyboard and mouse don't respond, but the audio stays active—whether it's Spotify or Discord. I have to power off my PC to try fixing things. This issue mostly occurs during games, especially Valorant and Sons of the Forest, though I haven't noticed it in other titles. I haven't played much outside these games, so I'm not sure if they're the cause. No error codes appear when it happens; the Event Viewer only notes that the shutdown was unexpected, with no additional details. I'm unsure what else to check or what steps to take next.

My setup includes:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Mobo
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk (MS-7C02)
- GPU: ASRock RX 6800XT XT Phantom
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200GHz
- Power Supply: EVGA 600W BR
- Monitors: 3 (1x1440p165hz, 2x1080px144hz)

I've already updated the BIOS, AMD drivers, chipset drivers, run MemTest86, and completed Heaven Benchmark. The system ran smoothly for about 30 minutes without crashes, but the problem still persists. It's hard to confirm if these updates or settings are responsible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Recommended power supply should be at least 650W for this system. Your card requires a minimum of 800W, and the RX 6800 XT has reported power spikes similar to the RTX 3080. Consider reducing the TDP using tools like Asus Tweak II/III or MSI afterburner, aiming for around 75% of the target and checking if issues persist.

It seems the minimum value is quite low, so I’ll stick with AMDs software. I can only adjust up to +15 and down to -6. Since percentages are implied, I should set it to -6% and see how it performs.

Found comparable issues with my 5900X when either the RAM or board didn’t accept the type I used. Chose a QVL from the board manufacturer and the problems disappeared. Missing an item doesn’t ensure it will work, but it also doesn’t confirm stability. Updated March 1, 2023 by An0maly_76 Added more details

I’m not sure how that setting works in that software, and I don’t have the RX 6900 XT anymore to try it out. It would be best to install MSI Afterburner or Asus Tweak III for this purpose. There’s a slider for TDP/power that starts at 100% but can be adjusted down to around 75%. If that resolves the problem, it suggests a power limit is involved. Regardless, you should consider upgrading to an 850W power supply for that card. Most builders suggest going with 850W because it’s affordable and reliable enough to handle even an RTX 4090 at full TDP.

Sure, that sounds fine. I'll check for some suggestions and then try it myself. Appreciate the help!

I received an updated PSU, set it up, but a few days later it repeated the issue. I cleared any adjustments in the software—voltage, power limits, frequency—and returned to the default settings to check if the problem persists.

I'm facing the same issue. My old machine with an i7 6700k works fine for Spotify, but the new i5 13600k causes random freezes and buzzing after a few uses. I bought a PSU from NZXT, but the problem still happens. Once I remove Spotify, everything works again. It's frustrating!

This problem keeps occurring intermittently, becoming less frequent over time. It's really strange.

Following up on this, issue is still happening, starting to happen now on Minecraft + hosting a server. No dump file gets created from a typical BSOD type of event. Any assistance is appreciated. This is frustrating. There is no OC on anything as of now, I just removed the RAM values from 3200 to 3000 and now default in BIOS.
