System shutting down unexpectedly PC restarting without reason Device malfunction detected
I'm really struggling here. My new PC keeps shutting down or restarting unexpectedly, sometimes after a few minutes of heavy use or gaming sessions. It reboots on its own or shows the VGA light but doesn't load properly. I've updated drivers, flashed the BIOS, and used a newer PSU and graphics card. The build specs are solid, but it still fails after 20 to 40 minutes of work or 2 hours of gaming. I replaced the PSU and motherboard thinking the old one was the issue, but the problem persists. I ran MemTest86 without errors, CPU stayed cool, and even tried using a different power cable without success. It seems my case might not be fully compatible with the new components, possibly due to a mismatch in PCIe slots or physical blockage. I'm considering removing the graphics card to test if it resolves the issue.
The GPU seems unstable in its slot—try to resolve it first. Make sure it’s seated correctly so it doesn’t wobble or sag. What kind of case does your old machine use? Usually it works fine, but if you need a replacement, go for something more robust than 550W from a reputable brand.
A basic check would involve taking out every part of the case and testing the computer without it. This helps rule out any problems tied to the case.
I also tested without a case, but the issue persisted. It operated smoothly for around 20 minutes before stopping abruptly, like pressing the power button.
Hey there! It looks like your setup might be facing a power supply or wall outlet problem. You could test it on a UPS or try connecting it on the other side of the house—sometimes just one circuit is enough. My thought is you probably have a dead PSU (DOA). BQ should handle the return or replacement process, reach out to them.
I still notice a problem... it doesn't fix any issues even if you're still using it. Yeah, but it might be related to RAM... usually it's RAM... I don't understand why a 550W power supply wouldn't suffice... this computer doesn't consume much power at all.
I started this system with a 2200g integrated graphics card that doesn’t have a dedicated GPU, and everything else is functioning as expected. It’s been running for about an hour and ten minutes without any issues. The CPU is drawing only 4–6 watts when idle and 27 watts under full load, which is unusual—hard to say what to expect. The older RX 6600 was drawing 100W at a high benchmark with the CPU around 40%, temperatures stayed normal and it still booted afterward.
