My PC shuts down unpredictably with no BSOD, just a black screen and immediate restart. This has occurred consistently for two days, though similar incidents happened before. It’s now out of control. Recently, after a Windows reinstall (dirty install), the restarts slowed down but still happen randomly. They mainly occur during games—like midway through a MW2 Multiplayer or CSGO match—or in the Starfield menu, though Starfield has its own problems. Occasionally it restarts even when not playing, but it takes much longer otherwise. I thought a Windows 10 reinstall would help, but it didn’t. There are several error messages in the event log pointing to a kernel restart failure, indicating the system was restarted improperly. Help is needed—any advice would be appreciated. I’ll share whatever info I have to assist.

A better PSU 450 watts isn't sufficient for a 6600W system.

Hey there, Symbiote. Your system details aren’t clear yet, but I noticed you shared a similar post today. Take a look and compare your situation with mine. From what I read, my concern seems to be related to the CPU, though I’ve already tried a few troubleshooting steps. Could that help?

Edit: You added your specs now. Topshelf Goalie might be on the right track, but it’s worth checking other factors before purchasing a new PSU. Does your issue match a new hardware component or did it suddenly appear?

This idea has come to mind, but are there other possibilities? I've been using this configuration for some time and have checked my parts frequently.

Files or drivers might be compromised. Consider reinstalling your GPU drivers.

Thanks for the update. It seems the changes don't match the new hardware, right? I recently installed a new motherboard and CPU a few months ago, but the setup has been functioning smoothly. As I mentioned, I've experienced the PC restarting randomly a couple of times before. It's like I'd log off and come back to find it restarted without any reason. However, the past two days have been especially troublesome with constant restarts.

GPU drivers were reinstalled and the sfc scan completed. It resolved a few corrupted files, though the issue persists.

However, the issue seems to affect every game, whether it's a light CSGO or a heavily modified MW2. As I mentioned earlier, before restarting my PC after the Windows update, it would take 2-3 minutes to reach the desktop and I wasn't able to post this. I understand the PSU might not be sufficient, but I'm just going through everything to make sure before buying a new one.

Event Viewer shows no other problems before the kernel errors after the system restart. This usually suggests a hardware problem rather than software. After fixing the corrupted files with sfc scannow, those files might have been affected by the abrupt shutdowns. If possible, try a Corsair CX550M or CX650M to add extra processing power without a big cost (around 50-70 USD), and check if the issue continues.
