A week ago during a playthrough on Steam, my PC shut down unexpectedly while testing a new Gundam game. Initially, I assumed it was caused by outdated drivers, so I updated them all. For a few days there were no issues, but then during my last two Overwatch matches, the PC would power off halfway through. I’m still using Windows 10, and although my system is quite old (built in 2014 with most parts from 2012), I haven’t faced such problems until recently. The case dust has been cleared this week. I plan to replace the machine soon, aiming for a five-month wait before the new GPU arrives. I’m hoping to swap it out in October as a birthday gift. How might I resolve this power-off issue while gaming? Could it relate to a faulty power supply? Might the battery backup from 2015 be contributing to unstable power delivery during intense use? Is there a possibility of an outdated BIOS causing this problem?

Your temperatures seem to be the main reason for this problem. Dust removal and updating the thermal paste could make a difference.

Please specify the power supply unit you're interested in, along with its age and the motherboard model.

Slightly above typical levels. Maintained around 43°C during idle. Didn’t notice much change initially, but I’ll run an under-load test while gaming to check the impact.

Played a session of Overwatch recently. Temperatures are stable, between 37°C and 43°C, with background activity keeping things moving.

You're thinking about a 10-year-old PSU, right? Maybe it's just a guess, but it might be worth changing it. (look for mid-range models)

The PSU might be the issue. The CPU cooler usually lasts 3 to 5 years before the fan stops working.

I got the point if it shuts down regardless of activity. But it only powers off while playing games. That suggests a software problem. I value your suggestions even if they don’t work.
