The PC tends to crash and restart unexpectedly, especially during idle or while using apps like Adobe design software or watching movies. It happens randomly but can occur multiple times daily or even once every few days. The issue started around August 2025, though the exact cause isn’t clear. No power outages have been reported.
The system logs show unscheduled restarts and a warning about an unscheduled power loss. Despite checking everything—disconnecting PSU, removing components, cleaning parts—I haven’t found a hardware fault. The CPU cooler was left on, and the motherboard wasn’t fully disassembled.
Current temperature is around 52°C (max 41°C), and the system runs smoothly otherwise. I’m testing fixes like changing the power supply, BIOS settings, and cleaning thoroughly. If you need more details or want to proceed with any specific steps, just let me know!
Check RAM by disabling DOCP in BIOS. If the problem continues, run tests with memtest. Use a different RAM module to determine if the issue is resolved.
Thanks for your message. Right now I'm saving a flash drive for the memtest, and I'll update you on the progress. The more realistic part is that the only way to confirm something works is to let the PC run and pause... If anyone has tips to speed up or improve this process, please share them.
Hello! Are you seeing a blue screen of death or does the system shut down normally?
Unfortunately, I've never witnessed the moment when it happens personally yet. It always happens when Im out, or sleeping, or use my own PC. But my friend reports it does show a BSOD for a little while then automatically restarts. I always find the PC already running after a restart, I just know it happened because all programs are closed, the task manager shows the runtime of the system and there's another critical event in the event viewer
Hello once more. The tests are complete; I kept the default settings, which should be four times. The findings are included. No issues were detected, though I’m unsure if it’s a positive sign since RAM costs are high. Still, I haven’t found a solution yet. Attached are the MemTest86 reports.
Capture BlueScreenView. If DMP files appear, it signals BSODs; otherwise, power issues might be present. A possible fix is adjusting BIOS settings and disabling C States. Two weeks prior, my 5950X/4090 PC would reboot repeatedly with BSODs. I checked everything I could—no error messages. BIOS updates didn’t resolve the issue. Eventually, Windows wouldn’t boot at all, and even LinuxUSB failed to start. I managed to enter BIOS successfully, and Memtest detected no errors during a 22-hour test. It was a stressful week, but now my PC is working again—thank you for your help!
I have swapped the original Eurocase PSU with one confirmed to work perfectly, tested across several platforms recently—no problems encountered. The Eurocase model included with the PC can be found here: https://online.westech.eu/eurocase-eco-5...48548.html The unit currently in use is a lengthy link; I understand the Eurocase isn’t a well-known premium brand, likely a European distributor. The brand being used now—SilverStone—is reputable and trustworthy. Even if not, I wouldn’t hesitate to try another model, this particular PSU seems stable across various systems. I checked multiple PSU requirement calculators, and the highest recommended power was consistently 400 watts. I think there might be an electrical distribution concern, possibly related to the CPU or BIOS settings that could cause instability and force a reset. Could you clarify what the C-states do?
