Hi everyone. I tried replacing my RAM and did it yesterday. It looks like they sent the wrong size sticks, so I had to go back to what I had before. After swapping them out, my computer is acting odd. It starts up normally, but apps load really slowly or freeze completely. Some games work, others hang during loading. Freezing happens sometimes—some programs freeze all the time, while others like Explorer might work and then stop. When I try to shut it down using the usual Windows menu, it just keeps spinning in a loop. The only way to power off is to cut power or press the power button. I managed to boot into Windows memory diagnostics once, but no issues were reported. I checked the BIOS settings, removed my CMOS battery to reset it, but nothing seems to solve the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Consider using A2 and B2 RAM sticks and reset BIOS to defaults through BIOS settings, even after clearing CMOS. Try enabling EXPO Now to check functionality. If issues persist, format Windows. It seems like a corrupted installation might be the cause.

You might also attempt "sfc /scannow" followed by opening the "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" window in Event Viewer to verify there are no issues. Additionally, consider reinstalling the chipset and GPU drivers just in case.

I attempted all possible solutions including a full Windows reinstall. The installation kept failing, so I reached out to customer support for the company I purchased my PC from. They mentioned an unusual AMD problem that needs fixing—this means they’ll replace the CPU. It’s frustrating having to send it in, but hopefully this will be resolved soon.

I initially thought it might be a faulty RAM or controller, but later realized the problem could involve unrecorded CPU issues. Could you provide more information about this situation? Thank you and best of luck!
