I’m preparing to replace my x570 tomahawk and encountered an issue from the start, quite similar to what others faced. The problem was that the board wouldn’t function properly when Pcie gen 4 was enabled in the BIOS. Switching to Pcigen 3 resolved it, but setting it to Pcigen 4 caused a significant slowdown—effectively putting the system to a halt. Even moving the window around felt sluggish. I experimented with various fixes, but ultimately decided against upgrading and stuck with Gen 3. It seems the issue might have been related to the board or the Ryzen 5600x chip and its PcieGen 4 lane configuration, not my Rtz3070. I’m a bit unsure about purchasing the new X870 tomahawk now, though it appears to offer the best value among the latest boards.

Hey everyone, thanks for the ideas. I finally figured it out by getting a new motherboard. I purchased an Asus Tuf B550 and it all works perfectly.
