Regarding the updates, they were consuming a lot of CPU power until I turned them off.

Over the past couple of days the CPU is being heavily used, but the Windows 10 update keeps running at 0%. It hasn't fixed anything yet.

It might be related to indexing your file system. I faced the same issue a year ago.

I ended the process now but it restarts when I restart... damn... it doesn’t usually take 5 minutes, especially with a 250 GB SSD.

I would let it operate, back then with a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD it required roughly a week.
