Hey, I understand your situation. Your HP Pavilion P7-1297cb is running slow for Fortnite even at low settings—70 FPS is a big challenge. There’s a lot of space used by old family photos, which makes things worse. You mentioned the internet connection is poor, especially since you used to have fast city speeds but now rely on an AT&T wireless home phone and box. Your current speeds are around 0.89 Mbps upload and 0.12 Mbps download. You’re looking for ways to improve this. Consider checking for software updates, optimizing background apps, or upgrading your plan if possible. If the wireless setup isn’t reliable, a wired connection might help. Let me know what you try!

I don’t have details about your specific computer specs. Regarding the location, it seems you’re referring to a large area—likely meaning there aren’t many options available.

Paying for faster internet is the best solution. Seek higher speeds and lower costs, then demonstrate this to your mom in hopes she will support it. For your computer, play at 720p or 480p.

There are issues you're facing. The middle of nowhere usually has poor internet. Running coax or fiber there isn't worth it because you'd end up with only DSL, which is the worst option for DSL. DSL performance depends on how close you are to the remote box or cable and the condition of the wiring. AT&T doesn’t seem interested in keeping copper lines in unprofitable spots, so the connections might be damaged. Most people in BFE can get around 3 Mbps DSL, or they might use satellite or LTE instead.

It seems you have an older PC with built-in graphics. Expect poor performance, so consider buying a dedicated graphics card. Check the other discussions about your internet connection.
