During full testing of similar programs like Brave, Event Viewer or Discord, my computer slowed down significantly. Once those apps closed, performance returned to normal. My system specs are an Intel i7-7800X3D, 3GB RAM, and a 32GB SSD from GSKill. I also have an AMD Ryzen 7 7900X with a 16GB RAM from PowerColor.

This seems quite odd. Is the system brand new? Have you made any recent changes or upgrades? Are there any odd behaviors in the Task Manager at this time?

It’s a fresh installation from around June, and there have been several issues over the years. No task manager problems have occurred; the only change was a CPU cooler upgrade. I figured it was graphics drivers and ended up getting a refund for the 7900xt, opting instead for a 4080 since I had a 3070 that worked fine with the 7800x3d.

No, I didn't delete the 7900xt drivers.

You made sure to remove the plastic peel ? Just checking. Since it's a new build you are still covered by warranty and can contact MSI and AMD about the issue. Maybe they encountered something similar before.

The plastic peel is working perfectly with the 4080, and there have been no problems so far.

Great! Even though I'm a big supporter of AMD, I realize some setups seem to need an Nvidia GPU without clear justification. I'm sure you discovered the best option.

I'm also an AMD enthusiast, but it looks like my setup prefers green over red for the 7900xt.
