I have an AMD 3900x with MSI x570 gaming edge WiFi. I’m experiencing unusual issues. During idle, the task manager selects random processes and assigns them high CPU usage, even though they never exceeded 5% before. Overall system usage spikes to 100% or fluctuates dramatically. The CPU fan is running at maximum speed. Regarding the thermal paste change, accidentally removing the CPU with the cooler caused some pin damage. I fixed it using a needle afterward. This problem didn’t occur before. Could it be that the pins aren’t making proper contacts now? I’m also noticing random 2-5 second freezes in Firefox. I haven’t tried other solutions yet. Can you help?

Restarting Windows for a fresh setup could resolve the issue (possibly a virus).

Remember to carefully manipulate the HSF to disrupt the thermal paste connection. If not, it will behave just like before—follow the instructions and remove the CPU from its socket.

It's my first experience with an AMD CPU and their pin configuration. I wasn't aware it was possible. The Intel CPU uses a cover/guard feature—its name isn't clear to me. Mistakes were made, but I've learned from them.

It's understandable to see this as an acceptable error; it occurs more often than expected. I hope AMD stops using pinned packages moving ahead.

@Shehab Ahmed Your processor appears highly active even when it shouldn't be. The Windows Task Manager displays these patterns when idle on an Intel chip. Any background processes can disrupt optimal performance.
