The system is nearly ten years old and has remained stable until recently. Problems began about two weeks ago, with the PC either restarting itself or freezing entirely. About half the time it resets completely, losing power and rebooting, while the other half freezes—power stays on, fans spin, screens stay on but respond to nothing. Logs show a critical error labeled 'Kernel Power 41' and occasional 'WHEA' processor warnings. I've configured recovery to display a BSOD instead of a reset, but no BSOD appears yet—only resets or freezes. These glitches occur during idle or light usage. Recent Windows 10 update appears to trigger BSODs, though a workaround hasn't helped. The latest update seems to affect booting more than other functions. I've performed a full system reset, updated all drivers, flashed the BIOS to the latest version, and run a memory test with eight passes over 12 hours. Disabled XMP settings, but issues persist. Any recommendations for further troubleshooting?

I faced this problem due to an excessive GPU overclock. I had to turn it off so everything works properly, and I also disabled Fast Boot, which seems to help prevent similar issues.

I haven't increased my GPU's performance beyond its default settings. I've experimented with quick startup or disabling it, but the problem persists with both options.

Check task manager for unusual activity during the problem. Look for any significant increases in usage, not just storage, when high-demand games or specific maps are running.

It's unclear how to verify this since the system shuts down abruptly without any notice, and the task manager isn't accessible.

Keep the task manager active and continue your usual tasks. Monitor it periodically to detect any changes before the computer crashes or freezes. Honestly, it's tough to pinpoint the exact cause since such problems are often difficult to diagnose. Might it be related to the power supply unit?

PSU might be the issue, but since I’m seeing freezes even when power is on, I’m avoiding that assumption. If the PSU had a problem, it should shut down automatically. I’ve also experienced a BSOD where volmgr.sys stopped working, which doesn’t seem to be the PSU’s fault. Still, it could be related to drives, the motherboard, or CPU—so I’m not sure what to tackle next.
